About me

headshot of Imani in all black

I am a product designer with experience building user-centered, accessible products for the financial and recruitment industries. I thrive in collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to inform the best vision for the product and maintain a user-centered, data-driven design approach. Drawing on my experience as a fine artist, I aim to balance business needs with features and functionality that will improve everyday lives. I excel at working closely with users, design, and development teams in communicating complex, interactive design concepts. I am skilled in the full product design lifecycle including designing UX research studies, flows, wireframes, and functional designs.

STUFF

Whether I'm designing or researching the most important thing for me is understanding systems from the perspective of the user. As a flawed human, before I start any project I make sure to consider these questions (courtesy of the D4D framework):

1. How does my identity impact my work?

2. What's the worst case scenario and for who?

3. Who might I (or the team) be excluding?

In asking these questions I hope to remain grounded in the type of work that continually focuses on the user.
